At just a few steps from the Lac de Sesquières, in the northern area of Toulouse, there is a gem of the French clubbing scene. We’re talking of L’Arena, the brand new electronic music point of reference of the south of France.
Since the big opening back in December with Dusty Kid, other great artists stepped the stage of the club, such as Paul Ritch, Bart Skils and Dr. Peackok. Different electronic music genres – techno, hardcore, trance and revival – and different types of artist, but one common factor: quality. It’s something L’Arena has demonstrated pretty clearly in less than 6 months of life. We really believe we should expect great things from this venue.
March in L’Arena goes on with another great guest. She comes from California and her sound is influenced by Detroit’s school, with raw analogue touches. DJ and producer, ONYVAA is one of Europe’s newest discoveries but has already played in top-class clubs, such as Rex Club in Paris, and was hosted not once, but twice by Cercle, the live stream events which take place in exclusive locations. The first time at Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace, and later at l’Institut du Monde Arabe alongside Amelie Lens, Pan-Pot, ANNA, Luke Slater, Charlotte de Witte and Bambounou.
Now based in Paris, she’s the founder of the vinyl and digital underground label Passeport Records. Supported by Laurent Garnier, Maya Jane Coles, Joris Voorn, Paco Osuna and many more; she gets her inspiration from all around the globe, putting her creativity in her own productions. Once again: girl power!
Alongside ONYVAA, L’Arena is bringing the Sound On DJs Ben Candel and Vincent Zhan. Known across the French territory especially for their events at Woodland Festival, the sweet electronic music escape in the forests of Grazac. And nothing better than one of the groovy sets of Simon Erar to start the night. L’Arena in Toulouse might also be new but surely has a bright future ahead.
