Portugal’s quintessential festival is building a new edition filled with highly demanded debuts and legendary comebacks
The best of electronic music returns to Portugal with the NEOPOP Festival. From August 8th to 10th, Viana do Castelo will reclaim its throne as the electronic hub of the Iberian Peninsula with the 17th edition of the event, for which the full lineup has already been announced..
It seems that the Portuguese giant has embraced exclusive b2b sets as a major draw this year, with NEOPOP 2024 featuring up to eight sets in this format. Among the most anticipated, we find Interstellar Funk b2b Priori, the versatile techno of Chris Liebing b2b Luke Slater, and the finesse of Oscar Mulero b2b Lewis Fautzi. Another notable pairing to watch is Ogazón and Ryan Elliot for those who enjoy a more underground touch, or BIIA b2b Victoria for those who die for the hardest kicks.
Making their flag debut at NEOPOP, names as explosive as the Spanish Indira Paganotto, who will bring her psytechno energy to the neighboring country. The dynamism of MOCHAKK or the rawness of Nico Moreno, so acclaimed in hard techno, also do not go unnoticed. Another heavyweight in this year’s debut list is Sama Abdulhadi, the Palestinian activist expert in creating soundscapes. The groove and breaks of KETTAMA also stand out among the names.
Among those returning to Viana do Castelo with a bang, we find the Belgian Amelie Lens, or such respected selectors as Dax J, Héctor Oaks, and Octave One. But NEOPOP 2024 has made history in this edition by adding living legends like Jeff Mills and Richie Hawtin. As it could not be otherwise, the Portuguese essence will be represented with live acts such as Roundhouse Kick or Salbany, giving the perfect national touch to the mega-event divided into two stages, the Neo Stage and the Heineken Anti Stage.
The Portuguese titan is fully armed to become your favorite festival of the summer. If you’re still hesitant about getting your ticket, don’t sleep on it because NEOPOP 2024 will sell out in the blink of an eye.
