Laurent Denis Garnier (thanks to the Journal Officiel, we now know his full name), received last Sunday the highest french honour that can be awarded by the Culture Ministry for his “30 years of service” as “music composer and producer”.

Laurent Garnier is proud to receive this award even if he doesn’t take it personally but more on the name of a music movement which, originally, has undergone so many prejudices and caused so many misunderstanding : “For me, this award does not only represent the consecration of 30 years of career, but it also represent a collective story”.

At the age of 50, he joined the limited list of electronic compositors who received this honorific distinction: Jean-Michel Jarre, and the pioneers Pierre Henry and Jean-Claude Risset.

Laurent Garnier will be in Valencia on the 13th of January for the 7th Anniversary of La3. So if you fancy seeing in live the father of techno music, don’t miss this opportunity and get your tickets now before sold-out!
