Kollektiv Turmstrasse: electronic music as an art

By Fran Escudero

July 18, 2017

Christian Hilscher & Nico Plagemann, more commonly known as Kollektiv Turmstrasse, are one of those rare electronic acts that easily catch your attention. Their music goes beyond simplicity and fulfils both body and soul.

The duo’s cinematic take on 4/4 electronica has earned them a name in the scene, releasing music under huge labels like Diynamic and remixes under Cocoon, Get Physical, Soma, Defected or Traum. Plus, a good relationship with Diynamic’s head honcho Solomun makes them one of the most in-demand live shows across the globe.

“Wide; open; top-heavy; all-consuming; shifted; simple; these are the words we use to describe our sound. We use both digital and analog. First and foremost we produce music for ourselves. We don’t predetermine whether it’s suited for home or club environment.”

See the damage that the two of them can do when they get together:

Then when you hear they’ll be playing at Input Dance Club your heart melts. Arguably the best venue in Barcelona, Input caters the city’s avid techno listeners with the best acts from all around the planet. In the unique location that is BCN’s Poble Espanyol and providing a face-melting, immersive music experience with a Funktion-One sound system and a mesmerizing lightshow, this place has earned a massive local and international reputation in a very short amount of time, and for very good reasons. The exact same moment you walk in you don’t know if you’re dreaming or you’re actually in a nightclub!

This is definitely going to be one for the books and tickets are very close to selling out already, so don’t miss the chance to see these guys!
