Fyre Festival, from scam to second chance in 2024

Next year, somewhere in the Caribbean. Little more than that is known about the second edition of Fyre Festival, the controversial event that revolutionised the industry in 2017 with a “super” proposal that ended in lawsuits, fraud and jail.

Its founder Billy McFarlan, recently released from prison, announced through his social media channels the release of Fyre Festival II. The first release of tickets has already sold out, with a starting price from $499 to $7,999 in this pre-sale. Although logically, this will increase over the months until it is completely sold-out.

This time we have incredible support. I will be doing what I love while working with the best logistics and infrastructure partners. We look forward to surprising the world along with our partners as we turn Fyre Festival II into the island adventure of a lifetime.

Victoria’s Secret Angels, Pablo Escobar‘s island in the Bahamas…Luxury, exclusivity, beauty. Major Lazer or Disclosure were some of the artists promised to perform at the debut edition. Fyre Festival had everything to become a posh paradise.  But the terrible conditions and an unreal line-up led to the festival being cancelled within hours of starting with all the people already there.

Two Netflix and Hulu documentaries, hundreds of horror stories, unpaid workers and $26 million in debt later, Fyre Festival is at it again. After this hopeful speech, are you up for Fyre Festival II? Luckily, you can’t get your ticket through Xceed.
