Before you know it, you’ll be having beer for breakfast. And your eardrums shaking from Valencia‘s mascletàs. But as loyal clubbing enthusiasts, during Fallas, our ears also resonate with the power of good sound systems. So, amidst paella after paella, we present you a selection of events you can’t miss in Valencia’s most important month of the year.
Spook
For the eagerly awaited date, the bat has spread its wings fully with a March featuring up to 10 top-notch events. As main highlights, on March 9th, Spook – in collaboration with Wax – will host SNTS. The masked icon of raw techno will be accompanied by the neoperreo and latincore sounds of CRRDR. March 16th and 23rd are designed for the loyal clubbers with nights featuring residents and locals like Lucia Gea, DJ Badtrip, or Finalversion3.
Another heavyweight on the table will be Joseph Capriati, visiting Valencia on March 28th. After more than a decade in the circuit, there’s no praise the Italian hasn’t earned. He’s rightfully one of the most sought-after headliners in the current scene, so don’t sleep on this because it will sell out.
To wrap up the month, Spook bets on the energy of the Frenchman AIROD, frequently seen on renowned labels like Lenske or Exhale. Alongside him, artists like Unai Trotti, Adi, or Hexxe, the Valencia-based Murcian whose complete vision of techno is making a lot of noise.
theBasement
Purebred house is another essential during Fallas with the team from theBasement presenting the sixth chapter of ELENCO House. This time, the event will feature extended hours divided between Palau Alameda until 3:30 AM and until 7:00 AM at Azza. Two dance floors, the best house sound in the city.
Fayer: 12th Anniversary
The melodic techno masters in Valencia are celebrating. Fayer turns a whopping 12 years old and is pulling out all the stops on March 16th. They will be joined by the Cuban-American Maceo Plex as the headliner. Alongside him, the head honcho Edu Imbernon, Mike Gannu, Millan, Almost Human, and many more.
Roto
Valencia has long been a meeting point for urban music lovers thanks to Roto. During Fallas, the promoter has made space by bringing in the best producers, DJs, and singers of the scene, often with electronic influences in their choices.
Thus, on March 8th, Rakky Ripper, one of the rising stars of the Spanish hyperpop scene, will take control. Other notable dates include March 9th with Israel B and the duo Lowlight, as well as the visit of Orfigyal, from the Madrid-based collective Karne Kulture.
PICCA
If you’ve read this far, you’ll have noticed that Valencia has everything for everyone. Another advantage of the Levantine city is that queer nightlife is thriving thanks to PICCA. In March, highlights include the visit of Alba Reche on March 9th, Drag Race icons Hugaceo and Arantxa on March 16th, as well as Rayo McQueer on March 23rd.
Club Gordo
If you’re more into the underground scene, Club Gordo comes loaded with a full lineup this month. Atisbo, Hexxe, Ikari, Hades, Vladimir Dynamo… The list goes on and on. Go and discover your next favorite emerging DJ. And remember, no photos or videos policy at Gordo.
Oven Club Centro
Valencia’s center ensures well-selected nights with Oven Club Centro. From Thursday to Saturday, the venue offers a lineup packed with local and national talent that’s experts at reading the nocturnal creatures of the city.
The Next Night
Tulum Valencia Art of Wild will host the next edition of The Next Night, presenting the Irishman Matador on March 18th. His name has been applauded worldwide and supported by the most prominent artists in the techno sphere. It’s a great Monday plan with the head of the RUKUS label that you can’t miss!
