We’ve compiled a list of record holding music professionals who went above and beyond to stand out and secure their place as the best, worst, largest, oldest & weirdest in the entire world. Enjoy!

Youngest DJ

DJ Arch Jnr

Meet DJ Arch Jnr from Johannesburg, South Africa.  The now three-year-old mix master takes the title of the world’s youngest DJ and the youngest person to ever win the global Got Talent TV series. He knows how to work a crowd, and coached by his father we’re sure this bouncy toddler is destined for great things.

Oldest Female DJ

Ruth Flowers AKA Mamy Rock

The woman known as Mamy Rock was still rocking the decks at the age of 82 and holds the world record for the world’s oldest female DJ. On Youtube her videos have reached more than 4 Million visitors and she’s played everywhere from Cannes Film Festival to the UK’s Glastonbury Festival.  Sadly she passed away in 2014 but her legend lives on as an inspiration to grannies everywhere!

Oldest Male DJ

DJ Derek

DJ Derek was an English DJ based in Bristol. His career spanned over 40 years and he was best known for playing a blend of 60s rocksteady, reggae, ska, dancehall and soul. Derek played DJ sets at many major music festivals, including Glastonbury and The Big Chill, and places like Las Palmas (Gran Canaria); as well as regular DJ sets in London and across the UK. He appeared in Dizzee Rascal’s video for “Dirtee Disco“. In 2013 he played his final set at age 71 before retiring at Notting Hill Arts Club in London on New Year’s Eve, though he later played a one-off show in December 2014.

Longest DJ Set

DJ Norberto Loco

DJ Norberto Loco, an unstoppable force who smashed the world record in 2015 with a 200 hour DJ set. That’s roughly 8 days of non-stop spinning. It all took place in Dublin at The Underground Temple Bar from November 19th to the 27th 2015.  No word on how he ate, went to the bathroom or slept(!?!?) during his record breaking marathon session but it’s also mentioned that there was a power outage and he still managed to keep playing. Well done.

Weirdest Boiler Room Set

Anklepants

Highest Paid DJ

Calvin Harris

The Scottish producer and DJ earned $66 million last year to lead Forbes’ Electronic Cash Kings list for the second year in a row. Calvin Harris is the undisputed King of EDM, according to Forbes’ latest report on electronic music’s big earners. He reportedly makes up to $400,000 USD per gig. No big deal.

Largest Vinyl Record Collection

Zero Freitas

Zero Freitas, is wealthy Brazilian businessman who made it his life’s mission to amass every piece of vinyl he (or his dedicated search team) can get their hands on. The total number of records in his collection? He’s not sure exactly, but estimates somewhere in the ballpark of “several million“. He has a team of international scouts scattered across New York, Mexico City, South Africa, Nigeria, and Cairo, who negotiate deals for him and send thousands of records to his warehouse Brazil every month.

Biggest Nightclub

Privilege Ibiza

Privilege Ibiza is the largest nightclub in world, with massive 80-foot-high ceilings providing enough space for huge shows and as many as 10,000 attendees – there’s even a swimming pool!

aaaaaaaand finally, we’ll leave you with this:
