Charartt WIP X Underground Resistance

By Eugenio Olmeda

November 17, 2017

With the new collaboration for the Detroit’s pioneering techno collective Underground Resistance, Carhartt demonstrates once again its attraction to the music world. It’s not the first time that this outwear brand (who also put on shows and parties, while maintaining an interesting music blog) have partnered with Detroit musicians. In fact, last year they released a Moodymann 7-inch and a couple of items in collaboration with his label, Mahogani Music.

Today, November 17th, Carhartt WIP will officially release this new clothing line featuring a fur-lined winter parka, UR embossed hoodie, a beanie, a pocketed T-shirt and denim pants, all bearing the techno collective’s iconic UR logo. The UR collection will be available only within specific shops previously selected by the U.S.-based clothing brand. Nevertheless, you can always find the 5 clothing items at the Carhartt web shop and also via the UR distribution.

Underground Resistance, the legendary techno collective lead by “Mad” Mike Banks recently remixed Funkadelic’s “Music For My Mother”, and they are famous for having shaped the Detroit’s techno scene since the early 90s.

It is always a pleasure see how different creative industries interact and collaborate with each others for producing something together. At the end is alway art, either that you are speaking about music, movies and, why not, also clothes. Having said that, check out below the results of this collaboration.
