With Easter in between and with the heat getting stronger in Barcelona, the city faces a new month of April in which the best clubs in town present enviable line-ups. Do you want to see what have INPUT, Pacha Barcelona, Nitsa Club, CityHall, Bikini or The Garage of The Bass Valley prepared? Only with Xceed, you’ll find all the clubs and their best programmings. Maybe this article makes you feel in a too tentative mood, but that has an easy solution: see you on the dancefloor!
10. Sight pres. Nastia and more @ Pacha Barcelona
It’s difficult to explain why. Personality? Charisma? A clubbing proposal which is unique in the world and different from the common? In her sets, you don’t find the biggest hits or the best-selling tracks on Beatport. Quite the opposite. Nastia always stars in unforgettable nights in which the most hidden sounds of the Ukrainian techno scene resurface to offer a musical narrative full of personality and conviction. We couldn’t miss her visit to Pacha.
When: Friday, April 5thWhere: Pacha BarcelonaLineup: Nastia, Andre Buljat and Oscar Akagy
9. Kindcrime pres. Rrose and more @ CityHall
Rrose is one of the most enigmatic characters in the European acid techno scene. After starting the career with a mask, (s)he decided to present (her)himself to the world in the form of a woman in order to claim her role in the industry and to demonstrate that sound was the most important part of the message. Her musical proposal is acidic, rough, raw and aggressive. The 4×4 is not her greatest ally, as Rrose adores broken rhythms and sophisticated and experimental proposals. CityHall will be tinged by the darkness of one of the most avant-garde performers and DJs on the rave scene.
When: Saturday, April 6thWhere: CityHallLineup: Rrose, Sbri (vinyl set) and Alessandro Nero
8. Breakfast Musik pres. James Shinra and more @ The Garage of The Bass Valley
Unmissable night for the most clubbing sybarites in Barcelona, for those who love the sound of the needle scratching the vinyl, micro and deep options with basslines of acid house and an accelerated groove which is capable of waking anyone. British James Shinra will finally perform in Barcelona (something many have been asking for for a long time) and will do it in one of the newest clubs in the city. The Garage of The Bass Valley has one of the most innovative sound systems on the European scene, as well as a lighting system and industrial aesthetics that make it one of the most attractive venues in Barcelona right now.
When: Saturday, April 20thWhere: The Garage of The Bass ValleyLineup: James Shinra and Stefano Bosio
7. Bicep (dj), Angel Molina and more @ Razzmatazz Clubs
Easter Night will be a massive one in Razzmatazz. On the same Saturday, April 20th, the Razzclub (the main room of Razzmatazz) will offer a DJ set by the acclaimed Northern Irish duo Bicep, who are in the 2nd place of the Xceed DJs of the Year. Meanwhile, in The Loft, veteran Angel Molina, one of the greatest figures of the most introspective and intimate techno sound in Spain, will be smashing the house all night long.
When: Saturday, April 20thWhere: Razzmatazz ClubsLineup: Bicep (dj), Angel Molina and Baldo
6. Swing 3rd Anniversary pres. Marco Faraone @ INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club
Swing’s family celebrates 3 years of dancing in Barcelona and they’ve decided to celebrate it with what is possibly the most formidable artist on the Drumcode label nowadays. The Italian Marco Faraone has established himself as one of the best and most fruitful producers of the label directed by Adam Beyer, which has led him to headline top festivals like Awakenings. His big-room techno proposal promises to crow INPUT, so we don’t recommend speculating with the calendar to get a ticket for this date.
When: Saturday, April 13thWhere: INPUT High Fidelity Dance ClubLineup: Marco Faraone, Hitch, The Deals, Pau Guilera and Jones May
5. Helena Hauff and more @ Nitsa Club
German Helena Hauff has become in the last 2 years one of the best acid rave sound selectors in the world. Her performances in Dekmantel, Berlin Atonal or Sónar guarantee the trajectory of an artist who has known how to resurrect the 90s electro & EBM personalities and has known how to fuse it with the most demanded techno tendencies of these current days. Her appearance in Nitsa is presented as one of the great dates of April in Barcelona.
When: Saturday, April 13thWhere: Nitsa Club (Sala Apolo)Lineup: Helena Hauff, Jasss, Ylia, Bawrut, Dauwd and Shelby Grey
4. NOM pres. Sebastien Leger @ Bikini
“Open your mind; don’t expect rules to be followed.” With slogans like this, the French Sebastien Leger has consolidated himself as one of the most defending artists of the melodic house and the deepest proposals. His figure represents the same concept defended by NOM: spiritual music, restful and detailed electronica, sounds that come from and transport to other dimensions, different parameters, unknown realities. With Sebastien Leger, NOM will live one of its best nights to date.
When: Saturday, April 13thWhere: BikiniLineup: Sebastien Leger, Nick Varon and Erez + BNK
3. Ellen Allien and more @ Nitsa Club
Berlin is the capital of techno music. And Berlin wouldn’t be Berlin without Ellen Allien. The German producer is the founder of the prestigious BPitch Control, a label that has hosted productions by Paul Kalkbrenner, Telefon Tel Aviv, Apparat and Sascha Funke, among others. In addition, she’s been resident of the historic Tresor, also in Berlin, having also distributed her acid techno sound around the planet. Always with a beautiful smile, Ellen Allien usually stars in some of the best nights of the year at Nitsa Club. This one will be no exception.
When: Friday, April 26thWhere: Nitsa ClubLineup: Ellen Allien, Ciel and more
2. INPUT 3rd Anniversary pres. Hot Since 82 and more @ INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club
Barcelona is a clamor: INPUT is one of the best clubs the city has ever had. The sound could fit a festival mainstage, with a scary wall of Funktion One subwoofers and an optimized cast of speakers all over the venue. Their sound and the visual proposal is unbeatable and all this adventure is celebrating 3 years of life with the great Hot Since 82, a British producer and DJ which has become one of the greatest in the history of tech-house and groove. He’s always had a special gift for uniting the most cheerful genre of the electronic spectrum with more melodic and emotional remixes, thus achieving a perfect equation between daring and ecstasy. Congratulations, INPUT, for these 3 years of making us dance. And may there be many more!
When: Saturday, April 6thWhere: INPUT High Fidelity Dance ClubLineup: Hot Since 82, Hitch, The Deals and Jones May
1. Xceed & Sight pres. Luigi Madonna (All Night Long) @ Pacha Barcelona
We’re going back to Pacha! You know that we love to party at Xceed, so after the madness we experienced in September with Charlotte de Witte, Ramiro Lopez and Fran Hernandez at Pacha, we’ve had to repeat at Easter (specifically on Friday night) with an All Night Long, a format that’s becoming more and more popular on the scene nowadays. Our man will be this time the Italian producer Luigi Madonna, who since he was young managed to make people like Chris Liebing, Richie Hawtin or Marco Carola, among others, fall in love with him. He has ended up becoming one of the best selectors in the range of minimal techno. Many of his works have seen the light in the prestigious labels Plus 8 and Drumcode. His 6-hour session will be ideal for showing us all the paths he’s walked to become one of the greatest. No one can miss this one because it’s gonna be the best one of April!
When: Friday, April 19thWhere: Pacha BarcelonaLineup: Luigi Madonna
