In recent years, KETTAMA has won legions of fans with his straightforward, unbridled, party-triggering house music: hard-hitting, loop-based club sounds guaranteed to get crowds started, created with a truckload of samples in FL Studio. “All in the box, no outs,” as he puts it, no complexes.
Campbell grew up in Galway, a city on the Atlantic coast of the Republic of Ireland home to some 80,000 people and, at least before the pandemic, an average of 120 festivals a year, from September's Oyster and Seafood Festival to July's International Festival of the Arts. But, he is quick to explain, aside from the highly respected producer John Daly, this quaint town is not known for its dance music scene. "There's not a lot going on. I think there's only one club left now," he says.
