He started his musical career with a djembe gifted by his parents to him at the age of five. From these early days Valentin could spend entire afternoons listening to Rock’n’Roll classics with his father. From The Who to The Kooks with many in-between, this essential listening forged the first steps to Kungs inspiration as an artist. Discovering a passion for electronic music in his teenaged years, Kungs became infused with interest for melodic sounds and crafted timbres always lead by a dominant vocal. By the age of seventeen his interests had evolved, and creating melodies using his own instruments became a passion. Shortly after his first experiences with a digital production software, Valentin was sharing remixes across the board of online social networks. His remix of Bob Marley - ‘Jammin’ and Lana Del Rey ft Molly - ‘West Coast’ both boast several million plays on Soundcloud & YouTube.  After a few unofficial remixes, official remixes requests were around the corner. From Axwell & Ingrosso to Lost Frequencies, Kungs quickly became a key remixer for the other DJ producers. Kungs’s remix of « Are you with me » counts now more than 16 million views on Youtube and 65.000 fans are following his Soundcloud page. Simultaneously, his first original track “To Describe You” became available. This collaboration with Mozambo featuring Molly instantaneously hit one million plays on Soundcloud. With early support slots with significant acts from many aspects of the melodic house landscape such as Kygo and Klingande, Kungs has quickly formed into a well established artist in the scene today with a tendency to provide driven and impressive production and live sets. His tune « This Girl » released on February 19th in Europe, is a rework of Australia’s ‘Cookin’ On 3 Burners’ original song, taking the deep soul classic and speeding things up a bit while adding catchy trumpets along with chopped up vocals to create a more club-oriented vibe. « This Girl » quickly hit #1 the European global charts including in France, Germany, UK (4 weeks in a row). Supported by Lost Frequencies, Klingande, Sam Feldt, Michael Calfan & Bakermat this track is now taking over America with a #1 Shazam spot in Mexico and Canada. After reaching the #26 position in the Billboard charts "This Girl" is now recognized as one of the biggest track of 2016. At the end of June 2016, the highly anticipated follow-up of « This Girl » called « Don’t You Know » featuring the British singer ‘Jamie N Commons’ as been released and hit the #10 in the charts of most of the European countries including a #1 airplay in France. In July 2016, following the several Listen Tour support for David Guetta, Kungs also had the opportunity to remix the official UEFA Euro 2016 anthem from David Guetta ‘This One’s For You’ featuring ‘Zara Larsson’. In addition to several gigs in Ibiza at Ushuaïa, Pacha and Amnesia this summer, Kungs summer tour dates has been really busy tra velling around 11 countries in most of the A list European clubs. In September Kungs discovered the US club scene for the first time and will be back in December for 8 gigs across the United States and Canada. In October 2016 Kungs released his new single “I feel so bad” Feat Ephemerals which quickly hit #1 in the French iTunes global charts. His debut album “Layers” has been released on November 4th. In addition to “This Girl” “Don’t You Know” and “I Feel So Bad”, the album includes a featuring with Luke Pritchard from The Kooks.
